Carolyn grew up and went to school on the North Shore. Carolyn attended Fort Lewis College in Colorado and received her BA in Humanities. After spending time living in the Southwest, she returned home to the Chicago area. Carolyn then attended UIC where she received her Masters in Social Work in 2005.
Carolyn has over 15 years of clinical experience. Most recently she was a clinician at Response Center where she worked extensively with adolescents, adults and families. Carolyn has a great deal of experience working with parents as well. She is able to help parents navigate and support sometimes challenging relationships with their teens. Carolyn has a unique ability to quickly develop rapport with individuals and make them feel at ease. She is strengths-based and collaborates with her clients in setting and achieving their own goals in a supportive, clinical setting.
Carolyn incorporates various modalities of treatment when working with clients. She uses components of humanistic, CBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy in her counseling. Carolyn tailors her approach to each individual client and their needs. Her approach is direct, yet kind and warm.
